The Greatest Father in Heaven

As Father’s Day approaches, I want to say Happy Father’s Day to my Heavenly Father. The perfect Father. The love of my life. The giver of my own father.
I just want to take the time to let my Heavenly Father know that I am thinking of Him. Decades ago on Father’s Day, it came to my mind that most of us think only of our earthly father and celebrate him on Father’s Day. I am grateful for my father, one of the greatest men on earth. However, I felt a knot in my stomach, because it hit me, I wasn’t saying Happy Father’s Day to the one who breathed life into me.
From that moment on, I have always had a tender spot in my heart for our Heavenly Father. He loved me so much that He sent His only begotten Son on earth to die for my sins so that I could have a relationship with Him. In my heart and mind, I think of Him throughout the day. In Him is everything I need.
He gives me love and compassion in my heart for my family and others. He gives me a song to sing because I know, he holds my future in His hands. He promised to give me a hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. He gives me courage and strength to accomplish tasks and take care of my responsibilities.
He helps me not to give up on those who are hurting and are mean or rude. He gives me grace. He makes me feel special because I choose to abide and walk with Him. I choose to want to please Him. My goal in life with the Holy Spirit’s help is to live for an audience of one, God. If I live to please Him, then I know everything else and what I need will fall in line.
To have security at a time when everything seems uncertain is priceless to me. I don’t have to worry about tomorrow ( Matthew 6:34). I plan, but He has the final say and I am glad about that because it takes the responsibility off of me. He protects me from the evil one (2 Thess.3:3). My life with God resembles a child who sticks close to their parent. They are protected from things around them. I believe this is what scripture meant when it says to be childlike. Most children don’t worry about tomorrow, about what they will eat, drink or wear (Matthew 6:31).
It is great to know that our Heavenly Father cares about every small or large issue in my life. I just love Him. Happy Father’s Day!
